I fell in love with a postcard that my mother-in-law sent me and I was waiting for the right fabric and the right moment to bring the picture to life in a quilt. During my last visit to Iran, my mother gave me over 10 meters of vintage yellow Italian satin that she had kept for years. I immediately knew that I had found a perfect textile for the Japanese postcard. Luckily I had enough satin to create two full size quilts of the same image; one quilt for me and my husband, the other for my brother and sister-in-law. |
